‘Exorbitant Stage: Botto, a Decentralized AI Artist’ concludes at Sotheby’s with 5 of 6 Lots auctioning for $351,600 total.
Conceptualized by artist Mario Klingemann and software collective ElevenYellow, Botto enters its 4th year of existence in style.

Ephemeral Brinkman
‘Ephemeral Embers’ by Bryan Brinkman with Iconic and the Norman Rockwell Museum swiftly sells out 100 editions for 13.386 ETH total (97 available at 0.138 ETH each). An additional secondary sale is in at 0.39 ETH.
Each collector receives the digital artwork and an opportunity to purchase a museum-quality signed and numbered print.

Following space-wide discussion on Foundation (Ethereum L1) and Rodeo (Ethereum L2), Visualize Value (Jack Butcher and Jalil) unleash an experiment.
VV places a single ‘Negative’ 1/1 on Foundation in auction, as well as a low cost, inverse ‘Positive’ edition on Rodeo. The results are fascinating.

Let’s reflect on those numbers from both sides.
The artist’s result is poetic, earning 2.64 vs. 1.925 ETH with Foundation coming out on top. The platform’s incentive is equally poetic, earning 0.9625 vs. 0.1375 ETH with Rodeo coming out on top. This serves to explain some of the public friction between platform and artist (not these artists in particular, but in general).
In true VV fashion, the concept does not end there.
It is leveraged for an Opepen “multi-layer exploration of how the same core image can exist across different value propositions”. It is also set for an experiment that “challenges traditional notions of authenticity in fine art photography”, positing that digital proof of origin may be more relevant than limitation of output.
