Carpoolers Returns
‘Carpoolers II’ by Alejandro Cartagena, exhibited and presented with Vertu Fine Art, opens.
The 1/1/50 collection (#51-100) is a sequel to Cartagena’s 2021 ‘Carpoolers’ collection. It sees an early sequence of 8 private sales (public on blockchain) for 13 ETH total to collectors including delronde, DinoG and AmbrP, and WAPSHOP.

ClownVamp and ‘The Junk Machine’ leave Marfa as a star of the show.
The 200 artwork collection mints out for 17.6 ETH total (0.088 ETH each) with an additional 1 ETH on secondary and list of 0.22 ETH.

“To my mind there are only really three things that matter in AI art: a recognizable style (in the broadest sense), a narrative, and some conceptual reason to exist.
Junk Machine nailed all three: obviously ClownVamp's work, it tells an interesting story about marketing, especially American marketing of the late 20th-Century, and it positions itself to force discussion around 'worthless' art, a perception common to both AI and ads.
The actual physical installation, which centered around a totally offline image generating device in the style of 80's toys marketed to girls, was also flawless and remarkably coherent, and in a space that suited it perfectly.
As the Junk Machine itself tours I expect the collection will come to be viewed as a reference point for physicalized AI.”

Closing Thoughts
The week is off and running! Several strong collections are either live or incoming, with Alejandro Cartagena, Joe Pease, and XCOPY setting the tone.
Volume is beginning to creep back into the usual suspect collections, led by Jack Butcher. Most of the Art Blocks majors see sales, as well as Beeple and Sam Spratt.
