Closing Thoughts
The Beeple prophecy continues, and the participating wallet is an informative example of a capital flow hypothesis. An art cycle theoretically begins with consensus “grails”. Using this wallet as an example, it first expresses via concentrated collections with liquidity like Punks (art/culture/pfp hybrid) and Fidenzas and Ringers (generative art), before then branching into singular artist ecosystems - XCOPY, then Beeple. I’m as curious as anyone to see whether this behavior pattern replicates. My opinion is that it will.
Another artist who fit seamlessly into the above conversation in 2021 (dare I say, maybe even led it) is Pak. ASH token plus [insert your opinion] complicated art that was leading the way to auction houses and beyond. Now we see smoke. The beginnings of a return to prominence or quick to die out? Let’s see.
