24 HOURS OF ART: Tuesday Highlights
Digital Art Headlines, Market Highlights, and Analysis from 11/4 - 11/5
Seedphrase Learns Nature
‘Learning Nature (b38,2023,13-e21)’ by David Young sells for 8 ETH to Seedphrase. Minted in November, 2021, the artwork was originally acquired by piggyguggenheim for 4.2 ETH via SuperRare auction.
Via Jediwolf:
“‘Learning Nature’ series by David Young are easily the most beautiful early AI artworks ever created. The series which began in 2018 on SR started with 9 artworks held by 9 OG collectors and remained unnoticed until 2023.”
Seedphrase was not finished.
Via private sale through MakersPlace Concierge, Seedphrase acquires four more David Young artworks from his ‘Manipulations’ and ‘Tabula Rasa’ series, “ahead of his upcoming exhibition in Paris this week, curated by Eleonora Brizi”.
Via Seedphrase:
“I’m thrilled to add some incredible works by David Young to my growing AI art collection.”
Three additional sales from David Young and MP Concierge are in the 1/1 section.
Hallucinations at Fellowship
‘Evolved Hallucinations’ by Trevor Paglen with Fellowship is underway via private inquiry.
The 1,000 artwork collection, releasing over the coming weeks, has already seen 294 sales for $250,000 in its early stages.
Via Alejandro Cartagena, Curator:
“AI models tend to be biased and limited in scope. The building of different models with different datasets per model addresses this issue and opens up the opportunity for more complex arguments and visual representations. It is accepting the tools' limitations and building complex systems to better tell the "story." Yes, AI models are biased, but what if we train them not to be? What will be represented if this is solved?”
Via Trevor Paglen:
“I began training models on allegorical art, symbolism, and metaphor, using image-vocabularies drawn from literature, philosophy, poetry, folklore, and spiritual traditions. Could I build models that embraced the slipperiness and squishiness of visual perception?”
AMC Paperwork
Ana María Caballero announces acquisitions for two ‘Paperwork’ sculptures. ‘momento’ enters the Barbara Mahe collection and ‘transmute’ enters the Arab Bank Switzerland collection.

Closing Thoughts
We see a nice boost after a slow open to the week. AI carries the day with David Young and Trevor Paglen stealing the show. It’s nice to see strong teams working with these artists across curation, exhibition, and sale.
ParisPhoto, Marfa, and Art Basel are lining up in rapid succession, beginning this week. Let’s see what elements carry over.
