XCOPY takes the spotlight as ‘Bad Flavour’ sells for 280 ETH (~$669,000) to punk4945 from kenneyer via SuperRare.

Minted June 25, 2019 with the description “MUNCH”, the 1/1 artwork was originally transferred to tcba_vault before selling to theartchitech in October, 2021 for 515 ETH (~$1,811,000).

Now for the twist.

Quietly OTC on September 7th, 1/1 artwork ‘Deathwave’ also sold for 280 ETH ($636,566)!

Minted February 20, 2019 with the description “Nasty”, the SuperRare artwork was originally collected by superrarejohn.eth for 1 ETH before selling to rudya for 8 ETH in February, 2021.

Jediwolf, of The Doomed DAO (h/t for Deathwave discovery), comments on what we are seeing:
“Smart XCOPY collectors will seize the opportunity as long as the market allows. There aren't enough XCOPY editions, nor are there enough 1/1s - especially the 'early' ones. While the crypto art market remains at its lows, this continued interest is a strong indicator of what's to come.”

Think Twice, Grifters

For the second consecutive day, five ‘Grifters’ by XCOPY sell, and the 1/1/666 collection list pushes to 10.969 ETH.

4 of the 5 head to Hivemind, prompting a comment from Founder Matt Zhang:
“GM. If you plan to list Grifters by XCOPY below 10E, think twice.”

The final one, a Yellow Grifter, sells for 12 ETH to Hehee.

Fidenza Highs

Coven2610 makes two Art Blocks acquisitions:

Closing Thoughts

I know they didn’t technically happen on the same day, but two XCOPY 1/1s are a rare treat!

Outside of the many XCOPY headlines and Fidenza high (nice to see), a strong sellout from Avant Arte and Derech 1/1 sale are eye catchers, and there is plenty else to observe within the 1/1 category.
